Pastor Derrick Bowman surrendered to the call of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ at the age of 18. He started
his ministry (1979) at the
Dr. Rev. J. Lee Foster.
During his many years of service at First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park, Pastor Bowman’s ministry
began to grow in the direction that God had ordained for him. During this time, he served as the Youth Pastor, ministering to the
needs of young people and their families. Through his continued growth he involved in various ministries at the
In 1994 he was called to serve as Pastor of the Resurrection Community Baptist Church were he served until God gave him the vision for Faithway Fellowship Baptist Church that was organized in August of 2002. As the Pastor of Faithway, his continued efforts are evangelizing and kingdom building for God and to be a servant to God’s people.
Pastor Bowman was elected President of the
Pastor Bowman is a loving husband and father. He is married to Diane Johnson-Bowman who partners with him in the ministry serving as the Minister of Music.
He is the father of 4 children (Jeremy, Nikiria, Britney and Derrick II) and grandfather of 4 (Mikayla, Kaci, Bradon & Briana).
